Golden Rule: The Journey For Peace

The Golden Rule is America’s first environmental protest boat and began its mission in 1958 when a crew of 4 sailed across the Pacific into a nuclear test zone off the Marshall islands. Today the mission continues in partnership with Veterans For Peace to abolish the use and manufacture of nuclear weapons while reconciling with past traumas and looking ahead to mitigate further destruction of indigenous communities and our environment at the hands of nuclear mismanagement. Join us in our commitment to a nuclear free planet as the Golden Rule sails around the US spreading its message once again.

    About the Director

    Nolan Anderson

Nolan Anderson is an American documentary filmmaker whose work explores the frontiers—both geographic and human—where adventure, politics, and survival intersect. His films blend the immediacy of expedition cinema with the moral depth of investigative journalism, taking audiences from remote wildernesses to the heart of political unrest.

Guided by a belief that truth lives in motion and relationships, Anderson builds his stories from the field—sailing, climbing, or trekking alongside his subjects rather than observing from a distance. The result is raw, physical filmmaking that captures both the grandeur of the natural world and the quiet courage of those who confront its challenges.

Anderson’s most recent release, Golden Rule: Journey for Peace, continues his exploration of how power, environment, and human endurance collide.
